Rection to “State of the Union”

In the annual address to congress Tuesday night, President Barak Obama said the blueprint of recovery from the recent economic downfall begins with American Manufacturing. He cited the recovery of American auto-manufacturers as evidence. He said companies should not get tax deductions from outsourcing jobs, and that from now on, every multinational company should have to pay a basic minimum tax. He said American manufacturing companies should get a bigger tax cut.

Our Own Congressman Jeff Duncan called the President’s speech “more of the same.”

“I think Americans want to hear about real jobs, real economic growth. The Republicans in the House have given the President many avenues to create jobs. The Keystone Excel Pipeline is just a prime example of where he’s allowed his radical environmental policies to effect American job growth, American job creation. It goes to the fact that we’ve got too much regulation, too much government red tape, too much taxation….and really, too much government.  I think America will work better if Washington will just get out of the way. I think what we’ve heard out of the President this evening is just more of the same.”
