Man Accused of Hitting A Woman In The Head Several Times

An alleged assault yesterday ended with one man in Jail. 25-year-old Marquel Oneal Bates Sr, of 218 Spring Street, Laurens was arrested by the Laurens City Police Department for Criminal Domestic Violence. The warrant states that he hit the mother of his children in the head several times at their residence yesterday. Bates remained in the Johnson Detention Center earlier this morning pending a bond hearing.
