Stolen Vehicle Allegedly Involved With Hit and Run

A Vehicle that was reported stolen was also allegedly involved in a hit and run accident yesterday morning. The Laurens County Dispatch put a Be On the Look Out for an unknown male subject that was allegedly involved with the hit and run on South Harper Street, Extension yesterday morning around 8:30. A short while later someone advised dispatch that he was seen getting into a gold colored car. Approximately an hour later a woman called to report her vehicle stolen. She stated to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Deputy that she had received a phone call from a Trooper who asked if she had been involved in a wreck on South Harper Street Extension. She reported that she declined, left work to go home, and found that her White Cadillac was missing. The woman’s mother stated that her grandson had been at the residence about a half hour to an hour earlier. Both the woman and her mother reported that they did not know who could have taken the vehicle. The Deputy was advised later that the woman sometimes lets her boyfriend, who does not have a valid drivers license, drive her vehicle. The woman was told by the Trooper that the vehicle was totaled. This incident has been passed on to the investigation division of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
