First Degree Burglary charges were served yesterday in connection with a night-time home burglary in Clinton last June. Clinton Public Safety arrested 27-year-old Corey Desean Willis of West Chase apartment P-3,590 Phillips Street Clinton on charges of First Degree Burglary, Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Safecracking, Grand Larceny over $2,000 and Malicious Injury to Property.
Warrants allege that on June 23rd he conspired on Thornwell Street to commit a burglary, that he then broke into aThornwell Street residence in the night-time on that date. A Grand Larceny warrant alleges that Willis stole US currency, several guns, a 1999 Ford Ranger truck and other valuables worth between two and ten thousand dollars. A Safecracking charge alleges Corey Willis used some type of tool to pry open a safe stolen from the Thornwell Street residence. The Malicious Injury to Property warrant states he broke out a window at the Thornwell Street residence.
Booked at 3:31 yesterday morning, Corey D. Willis remained in Clinton City Jail earlier today, pending a bond hearing this morning.
