The Laurens County Sheriff’s office charged a man yesterday with being in illegal possession of two firearms last Friday. 28-year-old Robert Christopher Summers of 33701 Highway 76 East, Kinards was arrested Sunday and held for the warrants, obtained by Sgt. Scott Franklin. Those warrants state that on October 5th Robert Christopher Summers had two firearms in his possession, after having a previous conviction of a violent crime. This allegedly occurred at his address. The firearms were described as one .22 caliber long rifle with scope and one Winchester .270 rifle with scope. He was also charged with Receiving Stolen Goods for being in possession of the stolen .22 caliber rifle. Robert Christopher Summers was being held for a bond hearing today.
