Man Assaulted, Robbed Near Car Wash

  The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 12;30 Friday morning on a report of a 39-year-old Cross Hill man walking into the Emergency Room for treatment. The man reportedly explained to a deputy that he was at the car wash at Watts Mill around 10 pm when four males pulled up to the car wash and asked him if he was straight. The victim said he started walking away from the car wash towardsLucas Avenueand that’s where the passenger of the vehicle got out and punched him in the head. Once the passenger was on top of the victim trying to go in his pants, the rest of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and started kicking the victim. The subjects then drove off and the victim went home and took a shower. Just after midnight, he had some friends drive him to the hospital. The man told a deputy that the subjects stole his wallet containing $230, a flashlight worth $25 and a watch, also worth $25. The case was turned over to investigators.
