The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office received a report yesterday about a situation involving obtaining goods under false pretenses. One man said he had sold a junk Dodge Van to another man who agreed to pay him $275 the next day. He said the buyer had given him $200 and said he’s be back the next day with the rest of the money. He said that now four weeks have passed and the other man still has not delivered the remaining $75. He said the buyer has been avoiding him but that he saw he at a gas station a week ago and warned him to pay. The man reportedly again stated he would pay the remaining money, but still has not.
