Seven people were arrested by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office on Drug charges from alleged activity at locations on Highway 56 North of Clinton yesterday.
They included 47-year-old James Edward “Jimmy” King Sr. of 313DavisStreet,Clinton, who is also facing additional charges from the County and Laurens City Police from July and September this year.
Laurens Police Detective Leann Riggott states that on September 15th James Edward King attempted or conspired to obtain nonprescription Euphedrine products at Wal-Mart onEast Main, totaling more than nine grams in a thirty-day period.
Sheriff’s Investigator Matt Veal states that on July 25th James Edward King Distributed Methamphetamine within a half mile of the playground at Broad Street United Methodist Church in Clinton. In another warrant, King is accused of distributing a quantity of methamphetamine to a confidential informant working undercover with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office on July 25th, 2012.
Finally, Jimmy King Sr. is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, accused of knowingly possessing less than one gram of methamphetamine at 12374 Highway 56 North of Clinton.
Another of those arrested yesterday was charged with being in possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine at that address at 12374 Highway 56 North of Clinton. 28-year-old Ashley Nicole Eubanks of 612 Little Acres Road, Clinton was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine.
Three others arrested by the Sheriff’s office on drug charges yesterday are accused of activity at another location on Highway 56 North. Charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and with Illegal Disposal of Methamphetamine Waste are 28-year-old James King Jr. of 496 Midway School Road, Cross Hill, 27-year-old Dawn Marie Leopard of 91 Fullbright Drive, Laurens and 23-year-old Michael Leon “Mike” Killingsworth of 110 Barkwood Lane, Greenwood. Dawn Leopard, James King Jr. and Mike Killingsworth are each charged with being in a motel room yesterday where items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine were located. Additional warrants from Sheriff’s Investigator Matt Veal state that each of the three are also accused of unlawfully disposing of methamphetamine waste at 12118 Highway 56 North of Clinton on October 23rd.
State Probation has placed a hold on 27-year-old Dawn Marie Leopard for charges of being in Violation of the Terms of her probationary release. That warrant alleges failure to report since May, changing her address without permission and failing to obtain lawful employment.
All five subjects remained in theLaurensCountyDetentionCenterthis morning, with bond hearings set for today.
Suspects #6 and #7 were still being booked on similar charges during our check at the detention center early this morning.
