$67,000 bonds from Burglary, Theft, Kidnap Charges

  Formal charges were filed yesterday on a Clinton man who was arrested following a home burglary at a Wattsville residence Wednesday. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office filed charges of 1st Degree Burglary, Grand Larceny, Kidnapping and Using a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime of Kidnapping. Bonds totaling $67,000 were set during arraignment of 33-year old James Eddie “Jamie” White Jr. of 183 Cypress Street, Clinton. Warrants served yesterday sate that he entered a Smythe Street dwelling with a deadly weapon and threatened to use what appeared to be a revolver. He allegedly kidnapped, confined or abducted a victim from Smythe Street during the crime. He’s charged with taking money, jewelry, electronics, food and other items valued at over $2,000 from the Smythe Street home on October 24th. Jamie White Jr. remained in theLaurensCountyDetentionCenter earlier today.
