Children Removed from Drug Presence

Clinton Public Safety was dispatched to a residence at Clinton Manor at 6:05 Saturday night to conduct a welfare check on a one-year-old child. When Sgt. Cathy Anderson knocked on the door, a man answered “who is it” but did not open the door when informed it was the police. After further knocking on the door, a female voice asked “who is it?” This time, after being told ‘the police’ a woman opened the door and allowed the officer in to check on the one-year-old child, who was on a couch. Sgt. Anderson also observed two more children in the apartment, aged 5 and 7. While standing in the doorway talking with the woman in the apartment, Sgt. Anderson reportedly observed marijuana stems in plain view on a window sill and small plastic baggies that smelled of marijuana. Further investigation reportedly revealed additional marijuana in the apartment. The woman reportedly stated it wasn’t hers, but didn’t want to say whose it was. The man in the apartment indicated it was probably the woman’s x-boyfriend’s, only known by a first name, who had moved out a couple weeks prior.

The guardian of the one-year-old child was summoned to the scene and took the three children from the residence. DSS was also informed of the matter.

25-year-old Jessica Megan Brady of Apartment 8-D,100 Clinton Manor Drive, was booked on charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. She was released from City Jail Sunday morning on PR bonds totaling $15,620.
