Laurens City Police evacuated residents from a mobile home park on the city’s east side early Sunday morning as a precaution, after fire from a burning shack spread to nearby vegetation. Police were dispatched at 1:29 Sunday morning to assist Firefighters at the mobile home park on Hardin Road. The structure fire was reported burning a dilapidated shed in the mobile home park, but spread to nearby grass. As firefighters fought the blazes, police had residents of mobile homes in the park leave their residences as a safety precaution, until firefighters extinguished the blaze. Firefighters were reportedly successful in putting the fire out without any homes catching fire.
