Murder Charge in Woman’s Death

   A Murder warrant was served yesterday charging a convicted felon with the death last Wednesday of 60-year-old Debra Jean Malone.  62-year-old Jimmy Harrison was booked as having the same address of Ms. Malone, at 59 Malone Drive, Clinton. He was charged yesterday with Murder and with Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime. Warrants allege that Jimmy Harrison used a bat to strike Debra Jean Malone multiple times in the head and used a knife to stab her multiple times on our about November 7th.

  Jimmy Harrison was placed in the Laurens County Detention Center Sunday evening and held for the charges served by the county yesterday. Meanwhile, Clinton Public Safety has issued a request to hold Jimmy Harrison for additional charges. The City has warrants to charge Harrison with Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon and four other weapons violations. Jimmy Harrison allegedly resisted the lawful efforts of Law Enforcement Officers to arrest him with use of, or threat to use a pistol against the officers. This reportedly happened February 17, 1996 at A.G. Sports Bar on Highway 76 East, Clinton. Four other warrants charge Jimmy Harrison with being a Felon in Possession of a Weapon, with Possession of a firearm in a business licensed for alcohol consumption, with unlawful carrying of a weapon and with Possession of a Stolen Pistol from the early 1996 incident at the sports bar in Clinton.
