Some $12,000 worth of copper wire was reported stolen from the Timkin building at 1775 Torrington Road,Clinton yesterday. A deputy was informed the metal was there during a check at noon Monday, but was missing yesterday morning. At 8am a check of a building noted the power was out in the back right corner and future inspection revealed that someone had cut the main power breaker then proceeded to cut and strip the copper wire from the lighting and sub-power boxes. It was estimated that 1,200 feet of copper wire was taken. Deputy Bollman noted it appeared the thieves took their time in the theft, even putting plywood over windows to conceal their activity.
