Suspect Flees on Foot over 4 Lanes of Traffic


  Clinton Public Safety was notified at 2:38 yesterday afternoon that a man wanted for an active warrant was walking toward Tribble Street onWest Carolina Avenue.  As Officer Carroll Kuykendall located the man and attempted to place him under arrest, he reportedly fled across four lanes of traffic and headed towards West Main, where he continued to run from Lt. Chris Moore and Officer Anthony Ritter. After a foot chase across the railroad tracks back onto West Carolina the subject was apprehended. Officers reported finding a glass pipe with metal Brillo pieces consistent with smoking drugs in the subject’s wool coat. He allegedly threatened retaliation on the arresting officers.    

   37-year-old David Leon Reeder of 100 Houser Circle, 5-G, Clinton was booked on Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Resisting Arrest charges, accused of fleeing officers after being told he was under arrest. He was also served with a Drug Possession warrant in which Sgt. Prather states David Reeder was in possession of less than one gram of crack cocaine on North Bell Street November 1st. David Leon Reeder was held overnight in Clinton City Jail, pending arraignment this morning.
