Vehicle Apparently Was Not Really Stolen

 

  The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched on a stolen vehicle report at 9:02 last night. While in route, dispatched advised that a Ford Explorer matching the description of the stolen vehicle was involved in a wreck at the intersection of Neely Ferry Road and Indian Mound Road. Witnesses at the scene including a firefighter dispatched on the wreck reportedly identified the driver, who had fled the scene after a verbal confrontation with one of the firefighters. Deputy Devin Hodges located the subject and transported him back to the scene of the wreck. 30-year-old Shawn Michael Gamble of 350 Harbor Crest Drive, Waterloo was charged by the Sheriff’s Office with Giving False Information to Police. The Highway Patrol was charging Mr. Gamble with Driving Under the Influence 2nd Offense, Driving Under Suspension, Operating an Uninsured Vehicle and Driving Without a License Plate. He was being held overnight at the Johnson Detention Center.
