Two side stories developed Friday following the arrest of a suspect in the November 7th murder of 60-year-old Debra Jean Malone of Malone Drive.
The man arrested on a Murder charge in her death, 62-year-old Jimmy Harrison, was apparently arrested later in the day of the murder on unrelated matters. We learned Friday that Harrison was arrested the night following the death of Debra Malone, estimated at around 7am that day. Greenville County reportedly arrested Harrison around 10 pm the night of November 7th after he had reportedly fallen asleep in his vehicle, parked at a Convenience Store inGreenvilleCounty.Harrison was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Felon in Possession of a Handgun. He was released the next morning, not yet identified as a suspect in the Murder of Ms. Malone. Jimmy Harrison, who is now housed in the Johnson Detention Center, had reportedly been renting a mobile home residence on Malone Drive, near the RV she lived in.
Also on Friday, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office charged another person who once lived on Malone Drive with stealing a vehicle belonging to the murder victim. 33-year-old Amanda Diane Capps of 17 Langly Street, Pelzer was charged with Grand Larceny Friday morning after her arrest overnight by Laurens County. She is accused of taking a 2000 GMC Yukon belonging to Debra Malone from 33 Malone Drive on November 13th, six days after her death. Capps was also served with a Bench Warrant from a July 2009 conviction in Greenville County on a Driving an Uninsured Vehicle charge.
