College Football:

  • Lots of news from college football this year but some of the biggest is that both the #1 & #2 teams in the polls went down to defeat .. Stanford took out Oregon by a score of 17-14 on a 37 yard field goal in overtime.. Meanwhile Baylor laid the wood on Kansas state as they took a 52-24 win.. That means there was a shake-up in the polls that came out yesterday.
  • AP Poll:  Notre Dame (the only undefeated team left in the BCS) is the new #1 for the first time since the BCS stuff started.. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon round out the top 5.. Positions 6-10 are occupied by Florida, Kansas State, LSU, Texas A&M and Florida State… Clemson checks in at #12 while South Carolina is #13.
  • BCS Standings: The 1st three teams are the same as the AP, Notre Dame, Alabama & Georgia..  The remainder of the top 10 are Florida, Oregon, Kansas State, LSU, Stanford, Texas A&M and Florida State.. Clemson is 11th and South Carolina 12th.

College Football Scores for State Teams:

  • Clemson 62 – North Carolina State 48
  • South Carolina 24 – Wofford 7
  • Citadel 42 – Furman 20
  • Gardener Webb 21 –  PC 15
