The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 12:28 yesterday afternoon to help a Laurens area woman retrieve her children. She indicated her boyfriend, the father of the children, was not letting her have the kids, following an argument. Corporal Christy Johnson assisted the woman in getting the children and helped them arrive at the woman’s mother’s house. There, the deputy reportedly heard the woman telling her mother that the boyfriend had assaulted her during their argument, grabbing her by the neck and shoving her against the wall. The officer took pictures of the woman’s neck, but didn’t observe visible injuries. A judge was to be consulted about the matter.
