Police Impound Dog After Feline Fatality

Laurens City Police Master Patrolman James Nolen was dispatched to Moreland Avenue Extension at 11:55 yesterday morning on an animal at large complaint. A resident said that her neighbor’s dog had killed her cat in her yard and was wagging its tail on her porch. When the officer arrived, he observed the suspect dog laying down in its own front yard, next door. He took the dog into custody and placed it in the police department kennel. An initial attempt to contact the dog’s owner was not successful, but Sgt. Martin was able to make contact with her later in the day, and she was issued a citation of allowing her dog to roam at large.
