A Laurens woman is facing multiple “meth” charges today after Laurens County Deputies went to her house on 127 By Pass around 1:30 this morning to investigate reports of a “meth” lab.LaurensCountyDeputies Devin Hodges, Steven Sweat and Lt. Marlon Higgenbotham arrived at the house at 1:31 am. While questioning the woman who lived at that location about reports of drug activity, deputies reportedly found some items in the house that appeared to be used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. They also reportedly had the woman show where a 20-ounce plastic bottle used in making methamphetamine had been buried in the yard, in an attempt to hide it from the deputies. In addition to allegedly finding a controlled substance in her possession, deputies also noted that a “38-special” revolver was found in the house near the suspect.
Deputies placed 50-year-old Cynthia Denise Bagwell of 3081 127 By Pass, Laurens in the county detention center around 4:30 this morning, where she is being charged with Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Disposal of Methamphetamine Waste, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was being held in the Johnson Detention Center, pending arraignment on the charges. Meanwhile, her house on 127 By Pass, Laurens was being condemned for human habitation.
