Suspect Found Hiding in Mom’s House

  The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man overnight who allegedly fled from deputies just before 7 Wednesday evening. Deputies had gone to a Conway Avenue home to talk with the suspect about an investigation. He reportedly sped away from the house in a Chevy Camero, almost hitting Deputy Devin Hodges while maneuvering the vehicle from behind the house, turning it around to leave the property.

  At 1 o’clock this morning, deputies booked 49-year-old Fred Henry Huckabee Jr. of 504 Conway Avenue, Laurens on charges of Failure to Stop for a Blue Light & Reckless Driving from the Wednesday evening incident. Deputy Devin Hodges states that Fred Henry Huckabee drove a motor vehicle in a manner showing a willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property on November 22nd, and that he failed to stop for blue lights and siren. Fred Huckabee was scheduled for a bond hearing today on the charges.   

   While looking for Mr. Huckabee at a residence on Race Track Road, Laurens an hour later, Deputies reportedly located a woman who was wanted by Laurens City Police.

48-year-old Patricia Roberts of Madden Road, Clintonhas been served with a warrant charging her with Strong Armed Robbery. Detective Tony Lynch states that Patricia Roberts snatched $225.00 out of a man’s hands on the night of July 8th, 2012 in an incident on Oakland Heights, near the railroad tracks. Her bond was set at $2,500 yesterday, and she remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.

  Huckabee was reportedly found hiding in his mother’s house on Blair Road, outside Laurens last night.
