Highway Patrol Car Hits Car, Issues Ticket

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office investigated a wreck involving a Highway Patrol Trooper in Laurens just after 7:30 yesterday morning. The trooper made a turn from Anderson Drive onto Forest Drive to make a traffic stop on a silver Dodge Stratus four-door, when the car reportedly made an abrupt stop, causing the patrol vehicle to strike the rear of the car. Damage was estimated at $2,000.

The driver of the car still received tickets from the trooper, charging her with an expired tag on the Dodge and for the driver allegedly operating a car with a suspended driver’s license.
