A Clinton woman was arrested by Laurens City Police yesterday in connection with alleged activity while she was employed at the Laurens Wal-Mart Super Center. 18-year-old Courtney C. Williams of Palmetto Street, Clinton is charged with Forgery and with Breach of Trust.
Detective Leann Riggott states that on November 3rd Ms. Williams forged and published a check for $219.64 on another woman’s at Wal-Mart. In a second warrant, Detective Riggott states that Ms. Williams, while employed by Wal-Mart between April 20th and November 16th of this year, received in trust merchandise offered for sale valued at over $2,000 and did convert the property to her own use with intent to defraud the owner.
Courtney Williams was released yesterday on Personal Recognizance Bonds of $5,000 and $10,000.
