Clinton Officer is New Bishopville Police Chief

One of the Shift Supervisors with the Clinton Department of Public Safety has accepted a job at the top of another city’s police department. After thirteen years working in law enforcement with Clinton, Lt. Sonny Ledda will become Police Chief at Bishopville, South Carolina on December 17th.  In an interview Tuesday on WLBG, Ledda said he appreciates the community and the City Management that has helped him develop as a law enforcement officer and as a person. He also expressed appreciation for the way the community helped his wife and family the year that he spent overseas in Iraq. He said that, from the start in law enforcement, his goal has been to become a Police Chief. He thanked former Clinton Police Chief Carroll Barker for giving him his first job in law enforcement in 1999. He had previously been in the military. While he looks forward to the new challenge, Lt. Sonny Ledda said that he and his family will miss this community.
