Laurens Lights along the Little River has returned for another year. This weekend, however, brings a new twist to the Lights – it’s called “Christmas in the Park,” and it’s this Friday and Saturday night. The event features Tinsel Trams. For those who do not wish to walk the entire trail or are unable to, these decorated golf carts offer an alternative option of experiencing the magical event. The cost is $3 a person, or $2 for children twelve and under.
The event will take place at Little River Park on Friday, December 7th, and Saturday, December 8th, from 5:30 to 8:00 and is a great way for families and friends to enjoy Laurens light display that CPW have put together.
“The city has done a great job with enhancing the river trail, and CPW is working hard to get all the displays together. We want to get people down there to really enjoy it,” said Main Street Laurens director, Jonathan Irick.
The Young Professionals have organized a place to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. Hot chocolate will be available as well. The City Parks Department will be showing a Christmas movie at 7:00 on both nights during which the trams will still be running. The movie planned to play on Friday night will be “The Polar Express.”
People will be able to pay during both nights but can also call ahead for large parties by contacting Main Street Laurens at (864)984-2119.
