The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office served charges of Assault and Battery 3rd Degree Friday, following the Thursday arrest of an Eastern Laurens County resident. 33-year-old Kenyon Demond Smith of 8678 Highway 56, Kinards is accused of punching a woman in the mouth, causing her lips to break and swell, in an incident Friday at his residence. A $2,000 cash or surety bond was set. Mr. Smith remained in theJohnsonDetentionCenter this morning.
