Meth Charges Served Friday

    The Laurens County Sheriffs Office Friday charged twenty-five year old Ashley Ann Smith of 3342 Warrior Creek Church Road, Gray Court and twenty-three year old Amber Shea Stites of 452 Branch Street, Woodruff after the Laurens County Sheriffs Office, after Deputies were dispatched to follow up on information that there was a Methamphetamine Lab. The Laurens County Sheriffs Office Clandestine Lab Team was called to this location to clean up the Meth Lab. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Hazardous Materials Crew came and disposed of the Hazardous Materials. A firearm was seized during this investigation also. Both women were charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. Ashley Smith was also charged with Drug Manufacture. She was being held in theJohnsonDetentionCenteron bonds totaling $25,620. Amber Stites was  being held on bonds totaling $7,000.

     The Laurens County Sheriffs Office arrested thirty-four year old Chad Allen Stites of452 Branch Street, Woodruff Friday after a Laurens County Deputy observed him walking down the roadway in the earlier morning hours. Mr. Stites reportedly asked the Deputy for assistance in getting a transport to a nearby jurisdiction. Before entering the patrol vehicle Mr. Stites was patted down for Officer Safety. At that time some pills and some Methamphetamine were reportedly found on this suspect. He then transported to theJohnsonDetentionCenterand charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance.  He was released later Friday on Personal Recognizance bonds totaling $10,000 on the two charges.
