A man wanted in Florida was detained Friday by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
46-year-old William Walter “Billy” Woody of 222 Lindsey Avenue, Greenwood was charged with being a Fugitive from Justice. In an arrest warrant on that charge, Deputy C.D. Lollis states that information received Friday indicates that William Walter Woody is a Fugitive from the state of Florida, charged there with a crime that carries a penalty of one or more years in prison. Mr. Woody was being held in the Laurens County Detention Center, pending extradition to Florida to face charges of Violation of Probation.
