A stolen moped was recovered by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday as a result of an investigation of gun shots. The red 2009 moped valued at $1,700 was reportedly stolen from Ridgecrest Drive near Fountain Inn sometime between 11 pm on December 19th and 2pm December 20th. Deputy Rushing was dispatched to Ridgecrest Mobile Home Park yesterday on a report of gunshots being heard. The deputy met a man who said that while walking he had heard what he thought were fireworks in a wooded area and that he noticed a dim red light from the wooded area. After walking through the brush, Deputy Rushing located a moped which was confirmed as the one stolen earlier this month. The stolen vehicle was taken to theCountyImpound lot.
