Duncan Says Tax Cuts Won’t Go to Deficit Reduction

With the US Senate’s vote at 2 o’clock this morning, attention turns to the US House of Representatives today. The measure extends tax relief to most Americans but delays action on spending cuts for two months.

Hours before the overnight vote, Congressman Jeff Duncan issued another statement casting concerns about the President’s intentions to control federal spending. Late yesterday afternoon, he commented on an executive order by the President, stating the President’s order to raise salaries for members of Congress and the Vice President shows how out of touch the President is when it comes to spending.
