A Drug Possession Warrant was served yesterday on a man who was arrested late Monday night by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. 66-year-old Thomas Bluford Cheeks Jr. of Lot 6, 826 Old Airport Road, Clinton was initially charged by Patrol Corporal J.T. Morf with having an Open Container of alcohol on Mill Street in Laurens at 11:33 pm New Year’s Eve. At the Johnson Detention Center, he was served with three Bench Warrants from August 29th, 2012 showing sentences of 30 days or $200 on three Fraudulent Check charges. He was also served with a warrant yesterday from the Highway Patrol that alleges he was in possession of less than one gram of Crack Cocaine on Monday night. A cash or surety bond of $8,000 was set on the Drug Possession charge. Mr. Cheeks remained in theJohnsonDetentionCenter earlier today.
