The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Hickory Tavern at 1:52 yesterday morning on a report of a fight taking place. They arrived on the scene and observed a 17-year-old son in the yard and his father inside a vehicle in the yard with the horn blowing non-stop. When Lt. Marty Crain ordered the man to exit the vehicle, he allegedly refused and balled up his fist in an offensive manner. The deputy drew his taser and ordered the subject out of the vehicle and he complied this time. Noting the man was bleeding from a cut on his head, EMS was called to check him out. They determined he needed stitches. The man was arrested on a Breach of Peace charge then taken to the hospital. Following treatment, he was placed in the county detention center.
37-year-old Jonathan Wayne “John” Phillips of 726 Henderson Church Road,Gray Court was released later yesterday morning on posting a $262 Personal Recognizance Bond.
