The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Laurens area man yesterday on allegations that he entered the dwelling of a neighbor last month and was in possession of the neighbor’s property. 47-year-old Daniel Sammy Mathis, also known as “Hot Dog,” of 46 Willow Winds Drive, Laurens was charged with Burglary and Receiving Stolen Goods. In warrants, Deputy Crockett states that on December 22nd, 2012 David Sammy Mathis entered another dwelling on Willow Winds Drive and that he also was in possession of goods valued at $160 that belonged to the neighbor of that same address. Daniel Mathis was being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, pending arraignment on the charges today.
