Each year the city of Clinton presents Spirit of Christmas awards to families in each city ward who are judged to have the best decorations. One award is also presented to a Clinton business.
Winners in the residential division went to:
- Christopher Gregory Family of Milling Street
- Bobby Bingham Family of Magnolia Street
- Melisa Padgett Family of Davis Street
- Bobby Gosnell Family of Gordon Street
- Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Heaton of Caldwell Street
- Joel Leckie Family of Spruce Street
Each of the award winners were recognized at last night’s meeting of Clinton City Council and will receive a $25 credit on their utility bill.
The winner in the commercial division was the Edward Jones office on Pitts Street. The commercial winner will receive a $50 credit on their utility bill.
Clinton also recognizes the top entries in the Clinton Christmas parade. At last night’s meeting, Council congratulated:
3rd Place – The float from the Thornwell Home for Children.
2nd Place – Laurens County Gymnastics and Learning Center.
1st Place – Presbyterian College Habitat for Humanity Chapter
The Clinton Department of Public Safety was also recognized as the top city department in the parade for their entry of Clinton’s new fire truck with the Red Devil cheerleaders on board.
