The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday arrested a low country man on charges that alleged he cheated in a business deal here in Laurens County. 31-year-old Timothy Darrell Byars of 613 Beech Hill Road, Summerville, SC was charged with Breach of Trust. He is accused of falsely obtaining money in selling copper to M & M Scrap Metal this past month. In a warrant, Deputy Walter Summer alleges that Mr. Byars falsely obtained money from M & M Scrap Metal for 102 pounds of copper when he only had 60 pounds. This was allegedly accomplished by putting his foot onto the scale and causing it to weigh more in a transaction on December 21st 2012.
