Arrest in October Burglary & Assault

  Laurens City Police have arrested a suspect in a night-time burglary and assault at a home in the 200 block of Conway Avenue last fall. 26-year-old Andrew Ray of 102-C Sumter Street, Laurens is charged with Burglary 1st Degree, Strong Armed Robbery and with 1st Degree Assault and Battery. Detective Leann Riggott states that on October 19, 2012 Andrew Ray entered another man’s dwelling on Conway Avenue in the night time without consent and with intent to commit a crime therein. She further alleges that Mr. Ray committed a battery on the man who lived at that home by hitting him in the face with his fists, causing severe facial damage. Andrew Ray was placed in the Johnson Detention Center last night, where he was being held for arraignment on the three charges.
