The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a Gray Court area house at 24 minutes after midnight this morning on a domestic case where a woman indicated she was not being allowed to leave her boyfriend’s house. Deputy Tonya Garrick investigated and was told that the two had a heated argument during which the woman wanted to leave, but indicated the boyfriend wouldn’t let her leave. She was reportedly packing her things into a plastic bag. The boyfriend reportedly indicated he had asked her to stay and work things out. The woman had reportedly been checking text messages on her boyfriend’s phone while he slept. She was reportedly upset that in the text messages with his x-wife, he had not taken up for her, so the argument began.
The case was closed after no injuries were found indicating an assault.
