Failure to Comply with GPS Tracking

A Clinton man has been charged with Failure to Comply with the terms of his release from jail with a GPS tracking device. 37-year-old Quinton Rainey of 1302 South Bell Street, Clinton was charged Monday by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office with Failure to File for the Sex Offender Registry on October 13th, 2011 as required by law. A $647 Personal Recognizance Bond was set on that charge, and Rainey was held for Probation. Yesterday, State Pardon, Probation and Parole added the additional charge of Willful Violation of the terms or conditions of the GPS tracking program. He allegedly has failed to respond to alerts or contacts made by the Probation Office. A January 9th warrant notes this is his third violation since being placed on the GPS monitoring program. Quinton Rainey remained in the Johnson Detention Center earlier today pending arraignment on the new charge.
