Shoplifting Crime of the Day for Laurens City Police.

Officers were dispatched to Wal-mart in the early afternoon where a 16-year-old male from Laurens was apprehended and charged under juvenile statues for alleged activity between noon and 1:30pm.

Laurens Police were dispatched back to Wal-Mart just before 3 yesterday afternoon on a report that two men were seen coming down the pet aisle eating pretzels. They had reportedly taken a bag and went behind a diaper display to conceal their opening of the bag. They had also allegedly concealed an orange dog collar and a chain which they took from the store. The subjects were not immediately located, but an investigation was underway.

Laurens Police were dispatched to Family Dollar at 102 Fleming Street at 6:49 last evening on a report of a Shoplifting incident in progress. A store employee reported observing three women with large purses that were shoplifting. When an officer asked the women if they had taken anything one reportedly replied “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” A 24-year-old Laurens woman was arrested, along with two 20-year-old women from Laurens and Clinton. They were placed in the Johnson Detention Center, to be charged today with Shoplifting.

Four cans of Campbell Spaghetti-O, five boxes of juice, a box of hamburger helper and containers or French pink nail polish and ultra quick glue were recovered from the alleged shoplifting attempt.
