The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday charged an Aiken resident with allegedly obtaining a few thousand dollars cash by defrauding a victim last summer. 39-year-old Angus Crawford of 202 Adams Road, Aiken was charged with Obtaining a Signature by False Pretense. Investigator Ben Blackmon states that on August 8, 2012 Angus Crawford did by false pretenses obtain cash valued at $3,750 with intent to cheat and defraud. The crime allegedly occurred in the 11,700 address range of Highway 252, Ware Shoals. Crawford remained in the Johnson Detention Center overnight, pending arraignment today.
