The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to investigate an assault at a location in the 2000 address range of Highway 221 South just after midnight yesterday morning. Several people were observed standing outside a residence when Deputy Michael Crockett arrived. A man who lives at the address indicated a woman he knows awoke him from his sleep and began to yell at him. As he got out of bed, he claims she pushed him and started to choke him. The woman said she went into the man’s room but said she was unsure who threw the first punch. The deputy determined both were at fault for the fight. The woman refused EMS treatment. No charges were filed.
