It’s thought he has been a regular customer, but he’s probably not welcome in the store anymore. The Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Quick Point Convenience Store in Maddens Station at 6:43 last evening where the store owner reported a man who had frequented the store in the past came in the store and was observed walking down the fishing tackle aisle, picking items off the hooks and placing them in his pocket. When he came to the counter to place a food order, the clerk advised him to put the items he had taken on the counter, and law enforcement would be brought in on the case. Instead, the man allegedly left the store without paying for the items. Deputy Michael Crocker reviewed video of the store and reportedly observed the man with white hair, a baseball hat and a heavy winter coat standing in front of the fishing tackle and placing something in his pocket. The case remained under investigation.
