For the third consecutive year the City of Clinton has developed and passed a budget recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association as meeting their high standards.
At Monday’s City Council meeting, Clinton’s Chief Financial Office Renee Morrow and Director of Administrative Services Joey Meadors were presented with the association’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
The award recognized the budget for the City of Clinton for ranking ‘proficient’ in four categories: Policy Document, Financial Plan, Operations Guide and Communications.
The city is no stranger to the association’s award programs. In addition to earning the budget award for three straight years, the City of Clinton has been the recipient of the Certificate of achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 23 years.
Of the 270 cities in South Carolina only 3% earn both awards.
