The LCSO was dispatched to a Burglary on Erwin Mill Road in Western Laurens County at 12:46 this morning. A resident told Deputy Michael Crockett that someone had attempted to break into a storage building in the yard. He said he had a sensor at the building, and an alarm woke his wife and they both went into the yard, each armed with a handgun. They reported hearing someone running from the storage building and away from their residence. His wife heard someone jump a fence and run up the road. He said that he and his wife then discharged their handguns into the ground to scare off anyone else who might still be on their property. Nothing was initially noticed as missing from the storage shed, but three fishing rods were found lying on the ground outside the fence.
