Laurens County Deputies responded to Cheek Road outside Gray Court just before 10 last night on a domestic call. Corporal Tonya Garrick and Deputy Brent Rushing interviewed the man and wife and learned the husband had been drinking and was angry when his wife would not give him money to go buy more alcohol. During the argument that resulted, the wife reportedly was concerned her husband was going to assault her. The man acknowledged the argument but said that in eleven years of their marriage he had never assaulted his wife and he was not going to last night, either. He left the house while the deputies were still there to spending the night elsewhere, leaving his wife and two children at home in peace. No charges were filed.
