Apparent Attempt to Scam

  An upper Laurens County woman reported an apparent attempt to scam her. The Fountain Inn woman reported to a Sheriff’s Officer yesterday afternoon that she had received a voice mail that there had been a civil suit brought against her and a restraining order. She called the number back and spoke with a man who had a foreign accent, and told her that she owed a company $800. She then called the company, and a person there said she did not owe them any money, and that she was probably being scammed. The incident was documented by Sgt. John Carter.
