Arrest Alleges Abuse of Vulnerable Adult

 A Clinton man has been charged with Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult for alleged coercion of the Clinton woman between June 19th and December 12th of last year. 49-year-old Billy Ray Williamson of 802 North Sloan Street, Clinton was charged with Two Counts of Forgery and Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult. Lt. Detective Tyrone Goggins states that Billy Ray Williamson published forged checks for $200 at two Downtown Clinton stores, and that the checks were reportedly stolen from a Clinton woman. The checks were reportedly cashed on December 12, 2012 and February 12, 2013. Lt. Goggins further alleges in a third warrant that Mr. Williamson exploited this victim by means of coercion and swindling. He allegedly used cunning arts that delude the vulnerable adult and caused her to lose money. This offense allegedly occurred at the victim’s residence in Clinton. Bonds on the three charges were set totaling $20,000. Billy Williamson was arrested Tuesday. He was transferred to the Johnson Detention Center yesterday, where he remained earlier today.

  Clinton Public Safety also charged a Laurens man for allegedly cashing a check from the same victim this past December. 32-year-old Harold Andrew Case Jr. of 101 Henderson Road, Laurens was charged with Forgery accused of presenting a check for $225 from the same Clinton woman at a Downtown Clinton store on December 12th.

A $5,000 bond was set on the Forgery charge. Meanwhile, Harold Case Jr. was also served with a Bench Warrant noting a conviction for Breach of Trust, Obtaining Money under False Pretense. He was sentenced in Clinton Municipal Court January 14th to 30 days or $262.50. Harold Case Jr. was transferred to the Johnson Detention Center yesterday, where he was also now being held for Greenville County.
