Opposition to Presidential pronouncements about the need for more gun control laws continues to be voiced by South Carolina Republicans. Our state’s Senior United States Senator Lindsey Graham yesterday repeated that he opposes new gun control measures proposed by the Obama Administration. But he countered with the suggestion that the Obama Administration should vigorously enforce the gun laws already in place.
Graham also focused on the issue of Alice Boland of South Carolina. Boland had a long history of mental illness yet was still able to pass a federal background check and purchase a firearm. She later allegedly used the firearm in an attempted murder at Ashley Hall in Charleston.
