Unusual Traffic Pattern Leads to Search Warrant & Arrest

 Reports that lots of cars were seen stopping by a house for brief visits, and of foot traffic in and out of the house throughout the night, led Laurens Police to put a house on Bub Avenue under surveillance over recent months. This past Tuesday, Laurens Police obtained a search warrant for the house. Yesterday, they paid a visit to #15 Bub Avenue. Detective Sgt. Tony Lynch states officers found and confiscated a quantity of marijuana along with prescription pills identified as Hydracodine and $1,198 in cash.

 One man was arrested. He was identified as 25-year-old Joshua Quintaye Boyd, also known as “JB,” from 732 Douglas Road, Laurens. Mr. Boyd was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession with Intent within Proximity of a School and with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

  In warrants, Detective Walter Bentley states that the defendant had in his possession of quantity of marijuana with intent to distribute, that he also had two sets of scales which are used in the sale of illegal narcotics; and that this was discovered during the execution of a search warrant at 15 Bub Avenue, within a half mile of Gleeams Head Start School. Detective Bentley also states that the defendant had a quantity of 5 MG Hydrocodone pills stored in an unmarked prescription bottle.

  Joshua “JB” Boyd was being held in the Johnson Detention Center with a Bond Hearing set for today.
