The Laurens County Sheriff’s office was dispatched to Satterwhite Road outside Laurens at 6:22 Friday evening on a report that a man had been run over by his girlfriend. Deputies arrived to find a gold Honda matching the description included in the report. A man was reportedly found lying on the ground in the care of EMS, suffering from injuries determined not to be life threatening. Further investigation reportedly revealed items in plain view on the back floor board of the car in a bag. The items reportedly included drain cleaner and acid. The Sheriff’s Office arrested 39-year-old Michelle Denise Upton of 346 Satterwhite Drive, Laurens and served her with a warrant charging Manufacturing Methamphetamine. It states that Michelle Denise Upton did have in her possession February 15th items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine on Satterwhite Drive. A $25,000 cash or surety bond was set, and Michelle Upton remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning. We observed no charges from the initial report involving the injured man.
